Kevin Devine – Inside Of Love – Devinyl Splits Vol. 1

Kevin Devine has been recording a number of projects here at the studio, all of them inspiring and enjoyable experiences. This is one of many songs that were recorded last fall to be released this year. “Inside Of Love” is originally performed by Nada Surf, performed here entirely by Kevin in a one day session. This is the first volume of his new “Devinyl Splits” series, with Matthew Caws performing one of Kevin’s songs (“Fiscal Cliff”). No Shields – Back In Action

Last summer, Brooklyn rockers No Shields returned to the studio with a new batch of songs to throw down. Eight tracks of rock and rock. Now, they are in to begin the stages of final ODubs and Mixing, things are coming along nicely. Their live show is killer as well. You should check them out.

No Chief – Ride / Finally Found Released

No Chief, aka Bob D’Amico, had two songs mixed here at Sunset 7, and has just released them via Bandcamp. Multiple people across multiple coasts had their hands in helping create these two fantastic Psych Rock tracks, and it was great to be a part of the process. Bob has put together a band, and begun to book some shows. Definitely a project to watch out for. Check them out here:

The Go-Kartel – Away EP

The Go-Kartel is a band based of a few friends who have been playing music, together and otherwise, for many years, and found it was time to document their hard efforts by recording some carefully crafted material. A great time was had by all, and the result is this great six song EP called Away. This was a fantastic project to work on, recorded and mixed here at the studio, mastered at JLM. Check this EP out.

Brooklyn based No Shields has been playing under various line ups and names for a number of years now, and last fall they recorded 5 songs, of which became this fine EP. It has all the fine elements of rock you could be looking for; heavy guitars and bass, beating drums, angry-men vocals with catchy choruses; ya can’t go wrong.

Steve Shiffman & The Land Of No – Mon Dieu – Released June 2013

Brand new record by Steve Shiffman & The Land of No, called Mon Dieu, has been released on Later Records. An collection of EPs into an LP project, this is a record years in the making. Recordings began in a loft in Williamsburg on N 6th (RIP) in August 2010, tracks of which were mixed by Aaron Kant. Then we moved lock, stock, and barrel to our present digs at Sunset 7 Studio, where we have established a permanent recording environment. Some tracks of these sessions were mixed by Jeremy Scott at The Civil Defense, the rest mixed by us (dAve Hollinghurst and SSATLON) at Sunset 7. Mastered by Doug Van Sloun at Focus Mastering.

This is a record we’re really proud of. Excellent songs by Steve Shiffman, with various recording and production styles (including various drummers…). Grab yr copy here in either digital or LP format.
